Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Council Bluffs, IA

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every third weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Medical ICU setting managing diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, MI, DKA, and PE
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips including vasopressors and sedation agents
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators, BiPAP, and other respiratory support equipment in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
• Read and verify cardiac monitor strips in collaboration with centralized telemetry monitor technicians
• Float to lower levels of care including PCU and Med/Surg as needed; orientation provided for float units
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional extension to 1:3

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• ICU clinical experience including management of drips, ventilators, and BiPAP
• Ability to read and verify cardiac monitor strips
• Must pass an open-book skills competency exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred
