Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed ICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor, read, and interpret EKG/telemetry strips and manage patients on ventilators (Galileo and G5 models)
Care for a general medical/surgical ICU population including stable CVA post-TPA, respiratory failure, manual proning, COPD, CHF, and DKA
Perform bedside shift report and participate in self-scheduling, including availability for extra shifts and shift trades
Rotate charge nurse responsibilities as needed, including break relief coverage
Float to other Sacramento-area facilities as required and rotate holidays with core staff
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in the state of California
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Dysrhythmia competency exam (via Relias) must be completed within 24–48 hours of offer acceptance; candidates receive two attempts (Test A first, then Test B if needed)
Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Ability to read and interpret EKG strips and manage ventilated patients
Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity health system within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with ventilator management, including Galileo and G5 platforms
Familiarity with telemed/robot-assisted intensivist workflows
Experience caring for patients requiring manual proning or post-TPA stroke management
