Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Galesburg, IL

Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

Galesburg, IL

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• Provide direct patient care in a 6-bed Med Surg ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and titrate vasopressors, paralytics, sodium bicarbonate, and insulin drips
• Perform EKG interpretation and provide ventilator care including vents, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Monitor and respond to telemetry in collaboration with on-unit telemetry technicians
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CAP, sepsis, post-surgical bowel resection, CEA, hernia repair, COPD, and DKA
• Float to intermediate care unit as needed, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• General ICU background with experience in vasopressor titration, ventilator management, and insulin drips
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

• Experience with EKG interpretation in a critical care setting
• Familiarity with eICU monitoring environments and camera/audio-integrated patient rooms
• Prior experience serving in a charge nurse capacity

• Work in a well-supported ICU environment with 24/7 respiratory therapy, around-the-clock pharmacy coverage, and hospitalist support including overnight eICU coverage
• Benefit from a reasonable weekend rotation and a clearly defined call policy with no on-call requirement
