Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every 3rd Weekend and Holiday | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions, plans of care, and patient goals in the ICU setting, including ongoing reassessment and documentation.
Safely administer medications, intravenous therapy, and vasoactive/critical drips in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and established policies and procedures.
Perform accurate and timely identification of cardiac arrhythmias and interpretation of EKG configuration changes; institute, monitor, and document thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy.
Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical ventilation management, including initiation, maintenance, suctioning, troubleshooting, weaning, and accurate interpretation of arterial blood gases and pulse oximetry.
Provide ongoing assessment and monitoring of patients in the immediate post-operative phase; implement VAP bundle components consistently and per protocol.
Participate actively in daily multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate on discharge planning, incorporating appropriate support systems and resources for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Massachusetts RN License.
ACLS upon hire, or active BLS certification with the ability to obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
Previous telemetry experience required.
Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior ICU experience strongly preferred.
CCRN certification preferred.
