Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; utilize appropriate patient education materials
Identify expected patient outcomes, revise plans of care as needed, and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care across the interdisciplinary team
Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families; consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care or high-risk discharge planning needs
Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and promotion of a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
Experience in an intensive care or critical care setting
