Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio for adult patients
• Manage a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation agents
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight support
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilators (CPAP, BiPap, High Flow)
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg as needed, maintaining standard unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Must be available for a minimum of 2 holidays falling within the contract period
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with complex adult patient populations including cardiac and neurological cases
• Experience titrating vasoactive, sedation, and insulin drips in a critical care setting
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems
