Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for adult and geriatric populations
Manage and monitor patients presenting with diagnoses including DKA, COPD, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, ischemic stroke, cardiac arrest, GI bleed, atrial fibrillation, and related critical conditions
Perform and support special procedures within the ICU scope of practice across a 10-bed unit
Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope of practice as needed — travelers are expected to float first
Work every other weekend and holidays as they fall per the schedule
Maintain active RN MD or Compact License, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale certification throughout the assignment
Required Qualifications
Active Maryland RN license or Compact license at time of submission
BLS certification – American Heart Association only
ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must reside 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience managing complex critical care diagnoses including respiratory failure, hypertensive emergency, ETOH withdrawal, and bowel obstruction
Comfort with floating to various units and sister facilities without restrictions
CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the accepted online option) preferred for compliance purposes
