Job Title

Travel RN – ICU (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Three 12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend and holidays on rotation

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed mixed ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU and med-surg admissions
  • Manage ICU patients including those on mechanical ventilation, CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, and Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Care for post-operative Day 0 CABG patients and perform neuro procedures including management of EVDs, bolts, and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia protocols for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Conduct bedside shift report for every patient at each transfer of care
  • Administer respiratory treatments including inhalers and nebulizers outside of the ICU as needed
  • Float to the emergency department or PCU to cover PCU or ICU holds per unit floating policy, as travelers are first to float
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ICU setting
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
  • Ability to manage up to 1–3 ICU patients simultaneously, including ventilator-dependent patients
  • At least one previous successful travel nursing assignment
  • Navy uniform required per dress code policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • BSN degree preferred
  • Prior experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
  • TNCC certification and additional advanced certifications preferred
  • Experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, phlebotomy, head and neck flap procedures, or cardiovascular/neuro ICU care is a plus
