Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill adult and pediatric patients (15+) in an 18-bed Trauma ICU, including those presenting with trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest
Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics per physician orders and unit protocols
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry; no monitor techs on unit
Manage and troubleshoot a range of respiratory therapy equipment from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilators
Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including A-lines, CVPs, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, IABP, Impella, Zoll-Thermoguard, and Bell Mont rapid transfuser
Float to inpatient units across the facility as needed, excluding Maternity and NICU
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted RN license
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submittal
Prior ICU experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
Ability to pass an open-book, skills-based unit orientation exam with a minimum score of 90%
Must comply with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring including IABP, Impella, Swans, and ICP monitoring
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills
