Key Responsibilities
Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for critically ill patients
Perform nursing care associated with life-supporting technology including ventilator management, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO
Perform hemodynamic monitoring and clinically manage patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
Administer medications safely and accurately, including all critical care drips and cardiac drips, in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies
Serve as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, and for patients' family members or caregivers
Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing quality improvement and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members including spiritual care, palliative, and ethics services
Required Qualifications
Current and valid RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact licensure
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
Dysrhythmia exam completion required
Minimum of 4 years of RN experience (open to discussion for highly qualified candidates with less experience); travel contract experience required (minimum of a couple of completed contracts)
Preferred Experience / Skills
2 or more years of travel nursing experience
Experience with central line care, chest tubes, wound vacs, Swan-Ganz catheters, transvenous/temporary pacing, and conscious sedation administration
CCRN, TNCC, or other critical care specialty certification
Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
