Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday Rotation Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed critical care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3, including care for respiratory failure, post-surgical, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac patients
  • Manage and titrate ICU-level drips including vasopressors, sedation, and pain control agents (e.g., Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed, Amiodarone, and others)
  • Perform and oversee PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and maintenance, and tracheostomy care
  • Care for sedated and ventilated patients, including interaction with respiratory therapy equipment (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow); troubleshoot as needed
  • Monitor patients via hard-wired telemetry; collaborate with on-unit telemetry tech for centralized monitoring
  • Float to medical-surgical unit as needed; participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules
Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Demonstrated experience caring for sedated and ventilated ICU patients
  • Proficiency with drip titration including vasopressors, sedation, and pain management infusions
  • Experience with CVC/PICC/Midline care and tracheostomy management
  • Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with PEG tube care and enteral feedings in a critical care setting
  • Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
  • Prior experience floating to medical-surgical units
