Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Peoria, IL

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex diagnoses including Sepsis, ARDS, Pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and Overdose
• Titrate a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive drips per physician-ordered parameters
• Interpret and read EKG/telemetry strips using Philips monitoring equipment
• Manage and troubleshoot arterial lines, central lines, and ventilator/respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow)
• Float to lower levels of care as needed (stepdown or general medical units) when census requires
• Collaborate with intensivists, tele-medicine intensivist support, charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care techs to deliver safe, high-quality care

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, and care of the ventilated patient
• Advanced knowledge of vasopressor titration and EKG strip interpretation
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility is a Drug-Free Campus
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical ICU or critical care setting
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
• Experience managing COVID-positive or high-acuity infectious disease patients
