    Registered Nurse – ICU / Intermediate Care (Float Pool)

    Contract | Days (0700–1930) | 3×12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for assigned patients within an Intermediate Care / ICU float pool setting, covering Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU patient populations
    • Utilize the nursing process to collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary health care team to deliver and coordinate patient-centered care
    • Manage complex patient populations including withdrawal syndromes (OUD, alcohol withdrawal), hypertensive conditions, and DKA, adhering to unit-specific protocols and monitoring requirements
    • Administer and monitor continuous drips (e.g., Precedex) and perform frequent clinical assessments to ensure hemodynamic stability prior to patient transitions
    • Direct and supervise nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with nursing practice standards and departmental policies
    • Float between the IMCU and step-down units as needed, maintaining a patient ratio not to exceed 3:1 on any unit
    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years in ICU or a related clinical specialty
    • Active Pennsylvania RN license or Multistate Compact (MSL) Registered Nurse license
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Additional certifications as required per order check / specialty area
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Experience caring for patients with complex withdrawal syndromes, DKA, or hypertensive conditions in an intermediate or critical care environment
    • Familiarity with IMCU-level protocols and step-down unit workflows
