Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Philadelphia, PA

Contract | Nights (19:00–07:30) | 3×12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients across Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU populations within an Intermediate Care (IMCU) float pool setting
• Manage patients with complex withdrawal syndromes, hypertensive conditions, and DKA, adhering to unit-specific protocols and monitoring requirements
• Maintain expected patient ratios of 1:2, not to exceed 3:1 on any unit; float between IMCU and step-down units as needed
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to individualize and coordinate patient care plans
• Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with standards of nursing practice and departmental policies
• Adhere to specialty-specific certification requirements and order check protocols as applicable

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an ICU clinical specialty, plus at least 2 years of general RN experience
• Active Pennsylvania RN license or Multi-State Licensure (Compact) – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required
• Additional certifications per order check may be required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience managing patients on continuous drips (e.g., Precedex, insulin infusions) and complex withdrawal protocols
• Familiarity with IMCU-level diagnoses including DKA, hypertensive urgencies, and opioid or alcohol withdrawal syndromes
