Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a multi-area critical care service line encompassing CVICU, COVID ICU, MS ICU, and PCU, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in ICU and 1:3–4 in PCU
Manage complex critical care diagnoses including sepsis, DKA, ARF, post-MI, STEMI, CRRT, EVD, chest tubes, arterial lines, IABP, SWAN catheters, Impella, VAD devices, TAVR, and cardiac surgical patients
Titrate critical care drips including pressors (levophoresis), paralytics, sedation (propofol), anti-arrhythmics, dopamine, heparin, and argatroban
Troubleshoot and assist with weaning of ventilators; demonstrate familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, Vapotherm, and Glidescope-assisted intubation
Independently read and interpret telemetry strips using Nihon Kohden monitoring systems; interpret ABGs
Participate in float rotation to PCU and other critical care areas as needed; respond to rapid response and code blue events as part of charge coverage
Required Qualifications
Active RN license
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
Strong EKG reading and interpretation skills required
Experience with ventilator weaning and troubleshooting required
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT strongly preferred
Experience with EVD, chest tubes, arterial lines, and SWAN catheter management (preferred skills list items)
Open heart surgery experience preferred; travelers with this background may care for fresh open heart patients upon skills verification
Broad critical care experience across multiple ICU environments preferred given float rotation expectations
