Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, patient- and family-centered nursing care in an intensive care unit setting, serving adult and geriatric populations across the care continuum.
  • Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other care team members and coordinate care across disciplines.
  • Float to other ICU units (Trauma, Medical) and medical/surgical units as staffing needs require.
  • Participate in shared accountability and decision-making to define, implement, and continuously improve nursing practice standards and the care environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an ICU or related acute care setting.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with fresh open heart surgery patients.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • Experience with Impella devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
