Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU serving a wide range of adult patients including those with Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Maintain a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for high-acuity ICU patients
• Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for both ICU and float assignments
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients at a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours/day

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting
• Demonstrated telemetry competency; must be able to read telemetry strips
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or large community hospital setting
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
• Experience caring for patients with complex diagnoses such as Sepsis, Cardiogenic Shock, or Respiratory Failure
