Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / Pulmonary & Progressive Care

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Rotating shifts available; scheduling options may include straight nights, rotating shifts, or blocked scheduling (e.g., 1 week orientation, 7 weeks of days, 6 weeks of nights) | Every other weekend and every other holiday expected
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient-centered care on a combined 30-bed medical-surgical and 8-bed progressive care unit managing diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pulmonary embolism, and COVID-19
Perform and monitor advanced respiratory interventions including BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, oxygen titration, non-invasive ventilation, and mechanical ventilation
Administer and monitor intravenous medications, moderate sedation during bronchoscopies, and manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, and postoperative care
Utilize Epic for clinical documentation, Alaris pumps for IV fluids, and Acudose for medication administration
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialty providers
Float to Med-Surg units as needed; travelers may be the first to be reassigned to another department based on census
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, medical-surgical patient care, and respiratory support modalities (BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow, oxygen titration, moderate sedation)
Candidates must badge in and out at the facility each shift
Navy blue scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Specialty nursing certification (e.g., Progressive Care Nursing or Medical-Surgical Nursing)
Prior experience in a progressive care or intermediate care (IMC) setting
Familiarity with Epic EMR, Alaris infusion pumps, and Acudose medication systems
