Float within ICU settings including Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Cardiac ICU, CCU, PCU/ACC, ED Holding, and Med Surg units as needed
Provide care for a diverse patient population including Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Surgical, CVICU, Sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, strokes, TBI, respiratory compromise, and post-operative patients
Manage ventilators, BiPAP, invasive lines, chest tubes, lumbar drains, tracheostomies, ostomies, and general drains; perform IV medication titration and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Maintain ICU patient ratios of 1:2; PCU/ACC/CCU ratios of 1:4; ER Holding ratios based on patient acuity
Document accurately in Epic, including hourly rounding, whiteboard updates, bedside report, and pre/post pain medication assessments
Adhere to strict medication handling protocols including two-nurse verification when wasting controlled substances
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; first-time travelers with strong ICU background and previous float pool experience may be considered
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
Epic EMR experience is required
Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start date
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent and BiPAP management, invasive line management, and IV medication titration
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in CVICU including post-op CABG, TAVR, AAA repair, esophagectomy, and thoracic/vascular surgical patients
Experience floating across multiple ICU and step-down unit types
Previous travel nursing experience with demonstrated adaptability in high-acuity environments
