Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age and psychosocial factors. Documents steps of the nursing process. Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward goals. Facilitates patient discharge through appropriate referrals and education resources. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Exercises independent judgment in planning operations and making minor decisions in complex professional fields. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Communicates with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
