Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Yakima, WA

Contract | Full-Time | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every-other-weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a mixed ICU and Telemetry patient population including CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and select surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
• Manage and monitor chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheaths (travelers will not pull femoral sheaths)
• Administer and titrate drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin, as well as blood products
• Support patients on BiPAP and monitor TR bands and femoral approach post-cath patients
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
• Float to ICU-level or below units throughout the hospital as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington or a compact state
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment (first-time travelers will not be considered)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with arterial lines (Art lines)
• Experience with Impella and/or Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Familiarity with combined ICU and Telemetry patient care environments
