Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Patient ratio 1:4. Floating to Medical-Surgical units as needed (1:6 ratio).

Highlights:

• Specialized intermediate critical care unit serving patients with DKA, Sickle Cell, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Stroke
• Function as Rapid Response RN with exposure to critical care procedures and equipment
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• 36-hour orientation with self-scheduling balanced by staffing coordinator
• Work with specialized equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and OptiFlow systems
• Collaborative interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Radiology

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with IV starts, cardiac telemetry, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilated patient care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, and PCA pumps
• Epic charting system experience required
• First-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
