Job Summary
This is a position for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse (RN) located at a Level I trauma center. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within a fast-paced, acute care environment, managing a wide range of patient diagnoses. It requires adaptability to hospital protocols and collaborative teamwork to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Position / Specialty: IMCU / Intermediate Care Unit RN
• Shift: 3x12 Days (0645-1915)
• Schedule: Days shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS and NIHSS certifications, active Illinois license, at least 1 year of nursing experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, or PCU/ICU settings.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification, hospital or trauma level I experience, Cerner charting experience, teaching hospital background.
• Responsibilities include interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response teams. The RN must handle post-cardiac angiograms, post-MI care, pre/post-cardiac cath procedures, and other specialized interventions.
• Clinical skills required encompass IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, sheaths removal, and management of ventilated patients with chest tubes and tracheostomies.
• Additional information: Experience in caring for patients with neurological, orthopedic, plastic surgery, and respiratory needs is essential. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and social services.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be pre-closed at the time of submission, with completed licensure, background check disclosures, and availability for the scheduled start date.
