Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer prescribed medications orally, subcutaneously, or through an IV, and accurately record the administration.
• Report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with established policies.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and provide necessary information for their understanding and comfort.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs accurately and timely.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, interpreting and recording electronic displays as needed.
• Initiate corrective action whenever there are changes in patient condition.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of active clinical experience in an Intermediate Care, Stepdown, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) hospital setting.
• Strong comfort level in caring for pre- and post-operative surgical patients, managing specialized equipment, and tracking continuous cardiac telemetry.
• Exceptional clinical judgment with proven ability to lead rapid interventions during sudden changes in patient acuity.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Georgia or a valid multi-state Compact license.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
