Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 and 48-hour work weeks available. Patient ratio 1:4. Weekend requirement of minimum 3 shifts every six weeks. No call required. Float to other intermediate and critical care areas as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; neuro experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; CCRN, TNCC, and CPI preferred
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Comprehensive clinical skill set required including telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, titration of vasoactive drips (including Levophed), cardiac drips, and insulin protocols
• Proficiency in neurological care: CVA, traumatic brain injury, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, aneurysm repair, post-TPA care, lumbar drains, and pre/post neurosurgery management
• Experience with advanced respiratory support: ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• IV therapy expertise: central line and PICC management, blood product administration, starting/maintaining peripheral IVs
• Additional skills: heparin protocols, PCA pumps, thrombolytic agents, feeding tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, hemodialysis management, wound care/wound VAC, and surgical drain care
• Strong commitment to attendance policy and professional conduct standards
