Job Summary:
An ICU / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position is available at a healthcare organization located in Saint Augustine, Florida. The role involves providing critical care on a stepdown unit within a facility comprising 335 beds. The assignment is scheduled to start on August 31, 2026, with a focus on night shifts and requiring a committed healthcare professional to deliver excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Saint Augustine, FL
• Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shifts, 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• Assignment Duration: Through 10/28/2026
• Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required to units including ICU, Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units, as needed
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant setting, with 2 years of specialty experience preferred
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred Qualifications: N/A
• Patient Nurse Ratios: Estimated 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 in ICU; 4:1 in Stepdown/PCU; ratios may vary based on clinical needs
• Support Staff: Two Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per shift, one unit clerk or secretary per shift, and 68 other support staff per shift
• Orientation: 2-day pre-assignment orientation
• Patient Population: Adult patients aged 18 and older with critical care needs
• Special Equipment and Procedures: Ventilators, vasopressor management, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump, EKGs, vasopressors, post open heart surgery care, sheath removal
• Clinical Modality: Critical Care, with documentation via Epic system
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs, closed-toe non-permeable shoes, groomed hair/beard, no jewelry or nail polish
• Additional Details:
  • No pediatric experience required
  • No pre-assignment testing or modules needed
  • No RTO during the first two weeks; maximum of 8 days RTO for a 13-week contract
  • Vaccination exemption forms accepted for seasonal influenza, with required documentation
