An immediate 14-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Progressive Care / Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Falls Church, Virginia (Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. metro area). Operating within a high-acuity 24-bed Intermediate Care / Medical Critical Care Stepdown unit at a flagship Level I Trauma and Tertiary Care Center, this position features a 3x12 schedule (Day/Night rotation, 36 hours guaranteed weekly). NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! FAVORABLE 1:3 RATIO! The department is seeking ICU or strong Stepdown/IMC-experienced nurses who excel in intermediate critical care environments managing acutely ill patients requiring close monitoring. Location Details: Assignment is located in Falls Church, VA 22042 (Dept: IMC / Medical Critical Care Stepdown). ⏱️ Assignment Timeline: 14-week contract (36 hours guaranteed weekly). Shift Details: 12-hour Day/Night rotation schedule. No Call Requirement: Zero standby on-call obligations. Acuity & Staffing: 24-bed intermediate unit with dedicated 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active VA or Compact RN license, AHA BLS, and AHA ACLS must be active and uploaded with the initial submission packet. Resume must demonstrate 2+ years of recent adult ICU or high-acuity Stepdown experience, including continuous drip management (Cardizem, Heparin, Precedex, low-dose pressors). Uniform requirement: Navy Blue bottoms with Solid Navy or Solid White tops. Facility Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts on assignments 12 weeks or less, or up to 3 shifts on assignments 13 weeks or longer. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be presented upfront with the submittal packet.
