Job Summary:
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in a hospital setting. This 13-week assignment offers a rotating shift schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts, providing an opportunity to work in a fast-paced observation unit. The role involves monitoring patients with conditions such as anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-operative status, urology, GI issues, and various drips, with an average stay of up to 48 hours.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts with 12 hours per shift, including day and night variations, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, ACLS certification (ARC or AHA), minimum of 2 years of experience, including at least one travel assignment; charting experience with EPIC required; ability to interpret strips and take an EKG exam during compliance
• Preferred Qualifications: Background in observation units, step-down medical-surgical (MS) or telemetry units; experience reading and interpreting strips, managing various drips including Cardiac (e.g., Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• Additional Information:
  • Ability to read and interpret electrocardiogram (EKG) strips is necessary.
  • Candidate must be resilient, adaptable to change, capable of managing independently, and collaborating effectively with team and ancillary staff.
  • Socially capable candidates who can complete tasks timely and maintain a positive attitude are preferred.
  • Scrub colors are flexible.
  • Hours guaranteed during orientation; during holidays and flu season, mask compliance is mandatory if declining vaccinations.
