Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse position is based in a healthcare facility within the state of New York. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory cases, including chronic vents with assistance from respiratory therapy. The position is suitable for nurses with at least two years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year in IMCU or Progressive Care Unit settings.
Job Details:
- Location: 111 HOSPITAL DRIVE, UTICA, NY 13502
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Valid New York Registered Nurse license and all active RN licenses, with RTO documentation included at submission
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
- Up-to-date resume demonstrating at least 2 years of experience in IMCU/Progressive Care Unit (PCU), including travel experience
- Skills checklist matching the specialty of the unit
- Drivers licenses with addresses matching demographics
- EMR experience with EPIC platform
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with chronically ventilated patients and use of specialty equipment such as temp pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, and Neptune Vapo
- Floating experience in a Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, or Respiratory setting
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Additional Information:
- Unit provides care for adult patients aged 18 and older
- Common diagnoses include neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and CV stepdown post-operative cases
- Unit has 64 beds, with 15 designated Neuro beds
