Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Intermediate Medical Care / Progressive Care – Wisconsin
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts available in both Evening/Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and Day/Evening (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) rotations. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Patient ratio of 3:1 across all shifts.

- Care for diverse patient populations including thoracic surgery patients (lobectomies, esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery), cardiac surgery stepdown patients, and hospitalist patients
- Utilize Epic charting system in a progressive care environment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Work within IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic specialty units caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Engage with advanced procedures including chest tube management, ventilator care, and transplant patient care
- Opportunity to develop skills in evidence-based nursing practices within a dynamic team-focused culture
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in relevant specialty
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
- ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required; thoracic experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria apply)
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Essential Skills:
- Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Advanced airway management including BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula
- Central line, PICC line, and arterial line management
- Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac systems)
- Blood product administration and heparin protocols
- Titration of vasoactive and insulin drips
- Pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care
- Wound care including wound vac management
- Port access and management
- ABG interpretation and isolation precautions
