Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.
Job Summary (List Format):
**Auto Offer Position**
- Position: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years telemetry experience (2-3 years preferred)
- Prior surgical telemetry, open heart surgery, and vascular (groin) experience required
- Experience with radial band management and IV skills required
- Optional: Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) experience
- Travel Requirement:
- Perm staff from any non-Swedish Providence facility eligible if separated for at least 3 months
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Required to float to similar units; flexibility required
- Every other weekend required
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- System Experience: Epic EMR experience is mandatory
- Patient Population:
- Cardiac PCU: Myocardial infarction, rule out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart and vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post catheterization lab (with or without intervention), stroke patients with cardiac involvement
- Specialized structural heart support: VAD, TVAR, etc.
- Care for patients with chest tubes and sternal precautions
- Skills/Procedures:
- Breathing treatments, chest tube set-up and care
- CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
- Sternal precautions
- Blood and blood product administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Epicardial pacer management
- LVAD management
- Post-op open heart care (24-28 hours)
- Telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Staffing Ratios: Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight)
Note: All Swedish facilities honor active compact RN licenses.
Med Ninjas Job ID #17650. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
