Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse Wausau, WI. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a focus on heavy tele, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke. The role requires the ability to manage a fast-paced environment, with a focus on stable, weaning ventilator and trach patients.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and a minimum of 2 years of experience are required.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC). A minimum of 2+ years of experience is required, including Stepdown/Intermediate Care or Progressive Care Unit (PCU). ICU experience and trauma level II preferred. Ventilator and trach experience required. At least one prior travel experience is required.
• Additional Information: The unit has a contract length of 13 weeks, starting ASAP, with every other weekend and holiday shifts required. The position involves float to higher acuity units, typically to heavier tele units. The unit handles patients with diverse complex conditions, and candidates must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Flu season policy requires mandatory mask use if declined vaccination.
