RN – Patient Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) – Acute Care

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed private-room acute care unit, including floor beds and Medical Decision Unit beds
- Care for a patient population that includes COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed patients (wound care, amputations, long-term antibiotics), and some post-partum and pediatric patients
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:5 as an occasional stretch, utilizing central telemetry monitoring and portable telemetry monitors
- Document patient care using Meditech Expanse; operate Alaris infusion pumps
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Case Managers, Social Services, Therapy, Lab, and Pharmacy
- May float to the Emergency Department in a task nurse capacity as needed
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit
- Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Reliable personal transportation required (rideshare services are not available in this area)
- Navy blue scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association
- Prior experience with Meditech Expanse charting system
- Experience with swing bed patient populations and extended-stay care
