Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Asheville, NC

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Receive admitted patients from the ED, complete Admission Assessments, Medication Reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders as part of a Clinical Decision / Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced throughput
• Provide step-down and med-surg level care at patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) and 1:6 (Med-Surg) across a 40-bed unit, day and night
• Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and Baxter IV pumps for patient care
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed, including potential opportunities in Telemetry monitoring and ED Transport nursing roles
• Prioritize patient safety and experience in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment caring for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses
• Assist with charge nurse responsibilities or demonstrate willingness to take on charge duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry (remote), and/or Step-Down (PCU) settings
• Proficiency or ability to quickly learn Cerner documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge Nurse experience or demonstrated willingness to serve in a charge capacity
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Well-rounded clinical background across multiple diagnoses to support a diverse patient population
• Experience with Baxter IV pump systems
