Provide intermediate-level nursing care for a diverse patient population including high-risk respiratory, cardiac thoracic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and head/neck surgery patients
Monitor and manage patients on a range of respiratory support modalities from room air through BIPAP and Optiflow
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans within a pulmonary/thoracic step-down unit
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective transitions of care for intermediate acuity patients
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intermediate Care, PCU, or Step Down setting
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience managing patients on BIPAP or Optiflow respiratory support
Background in pulmonary, thoracic, or surgical step-down nursing
