Registered Nurse – Telemetry / IMC / Step-Down (Moderate Care Unit)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (36 hrs/week) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, 12-bed, 24-hour moderate care / observation unit serving the heart and vascular service line
- Monitor and manage low-acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in cardiac or vascular ICU or step-down units, as well as post-procedure observation patients
- Manage patients on 2–4 drips, arterial lines, PA catheters, and LVADs
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm identification for a high-volume, high-turnover patient population with a wide variety of cardiovascular diagnoses
- Apply strong critical thinking and assessment skills in a dynamic environment supporting pre-surgical and post-procedure cardiovascular patients
- Complete a proctored, written rhythm identification test upon unit orientation (two attempts permitted)
Required Qualifications- Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 18 months of IMC, PCU, Step-Down, or related specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Demonstrated competency with PA catheters and arterial lines
- Ability to manage patients on multiple vasoactive or cardiac drips
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)
- Navy blue scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills- CCRN certification strongly preferred
- Experience with LVAD patients
- Background in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic step-down or critical care settings
