Registered Nurse – Progressive Care / Neuro Stepdown

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a neurological stepdown/progressive care unit setting
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, including post-neurological and step-down patients
- Perform and document neurological assessments using NIHSS protocols
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document all patient care activities and clinical findings within the electronic health record system
Required Qualifications- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a neurological stepdown, IMC, PCU, or stepdown specialty
- NIHSS certification (must be documented and verifiable)
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
- Ability to work weekends and non-block scheduling as required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Strong medical/surgical nursing background with stepdown exposure may be considered
- Experience caring for neurological patient populations in an acute care environment
- Familiarity with progressive care workflows and intermediate-level monitoring
