Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide progressive care nursing for patients presenting with cardiac diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, coronary artery disease, and chest pain
  • Manage and monitor vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin infusions
  • Administer and monitor diuretic therapy including Lasix and Bumex
  • Perform and manage peritoneal dialysis and insulin drip protocols
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to rhythm changes; candidates will be required to pass a proctored rhythm identification test upon start
  • Care for patients pre- and post-procedure including angioplasty, heart transplant, and LVAD management
Required Qualifications
  • Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 18 months of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown specialty experience within the past 3 years
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience required
  • Insulin drip management experience required
  • Ability to pass a proctored, open-answer cardiac rhythm identification test (two attempts allowed)
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility — local travelers are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for LVAD, heart transplant, or congenital heart disease patients
  • Familiarity with cardiogenic shock management and hemodynamic monitoring
