Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Med/Tele)

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed telemetry and cardiac unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, pneumonia, sepsis, ETOH, and acute-on-chronic conditions
  • Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
  • Read and independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips; monitor patients via portable and in-room telemetry systems
  • Manage PCU-level overflow patients at a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio; standard unit ratio is 1:4–5
  • Assist with or troubleshoot RT equipment including BiPAP, trachs, and high-flow oxygen (Airvo)
  • Float as needed to PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical units, and ER holds as a helping hand
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • PCU experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
  • Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Epic EMR
  • Background in telemetry or cardiac nursing
  • Familiarity with cardiac cath, EP studies, and pacemaker patients
