Contract | Three 12-hour night shifts per week | Rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
Provide inpatient acute care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and other respiratory, neuro, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
Manage and monitor patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and dialysis
Care for post-ablation and cath lab patients as needed
Read and interpret telemetry and demonstrate comfort with chest tube management
Document patient care using EPIC EMR and administer medications via Pyxis dispensing system
Float to other units as needed, including ICU (for those with extensive ICU experience) or general medical floors, adapting to assigned patient ratios
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in Illinois or compact state eligibility
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Ability to read and interpret telemetry
Comfort and experience with chest tube management
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an IMC, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
ICU experience preferred for candidates who may float to critical care
Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
