Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Bloomington, IL

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Bloomington, IL

Contract | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating nights, weekends, and holidays

• Provide inpatient acute care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, sepsis, renal conditions, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and neuro/surgical/cardiac diagnoses
• Manage and monitor patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomies, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and dialysis
• Care for ablation and cath lab patients within a 32-bed private room unit at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3–4 patients per nurse
• Read and interpret telemetry monitoring as part of routine patient assessment
• Float to other units as needed, including general medical floors or ICU (based on experience), adapting to the patient assignment and acuity level of that unit
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR and utilize Pyxis medication dispensing systems

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry
• Comfort and proficiency with chest tube management

• Prior experience in an IMC, PCU, or stepdown unit setting
• Extensive ICU experience (preferred for potential ICU float assignments)
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

• Work in a well-structured inpatient acute care environment with a manageable nurse-to-patient ratio of 3–4 patients per nurse in a 32-bed, all-private-room unit
• Gain diverse clinical exposure across a broad range of conditions and procedures in a dynamic stepdown setting
