RN – Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize findings to develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of patient care.
• Identify and address discharge planning needs, consult appropriate resources for complex care issues, and develop relationships with families to support patient advocacy.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Charge nurse and precepting experience required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting.
