Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, recognize complex clinical situations, and develop or update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs appropriate to the patient population.
- Consult with interdisciplinary team members regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high-risk discharge planning needs.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, unit goal development, and interdepartmental collaboration to promote cost-effective, high-quality care.
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn and utilize appropriate patient education materials to support continuity of care.
Required Qualifications- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting.
