Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend and holiday rotation required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an intermediate PCU/step-down setting with a focus on pre- and post-operative transplant (liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas), nephrology, and urology patients
  • Monitor patients using central monitoring systems and bedside monitors, with close observation for transplant patients requiring heightened surveillance
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4 on night shift, adjusting as needed based on unit demands
  • Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records
  • Float within scope of practice to other units as needed to meet facility staffing requirements
  • Participate in emergency response team assignments as required during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
  • Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact State RN license (SC license must be active prior to start date)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, IMC, or step-down nursing experience
  • Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale certification through American Heart Association (AHA) only
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience caring for transplant, nephrology, or urology patient populations
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
  • Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital
