Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Trauma Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma and surgical patients in a multidisciplinary team environment across floor and stepdown settings
• Manage patient assignments on a 25-bed trauma floor and/or a 6-bed intermediate care stepdown unit; traveler assignments to pediatric beds are not required
• Perform skills including IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Utilize Level 1 Trauma clinical competencies to support patient care needs
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic health records
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; minimum 1 year of in-specialty experience required (PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU); first-time travelers with ICU or Trauma experience may be considered
• WV RN License or Compact RN License required; candidates with a pending license may be submitted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be through the American Heart Association)
• Fit test required prior to start date using an approved mask; candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing 75–99 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC certification preferred
• CPI certification preferred (completion through Qualivis is an accepted option)
• Background in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU settings strongly preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and conscious sedation
