Travel RN – Cardiac Stepdown (Nights)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: 07/13/2026
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 5–6:1
- Document telemetry application, acknowledge and chart rhythm strips each shift, and manage Philips telemetry and MP2 monitoring equipment
- Administer and monitor vasoactive and cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs
- Conduct bedside and hourly rounding utilizing the 5P framework; communicate patient needs to PCTs at shift start and throughout the shift
- Float to other medical/surgical areas as needed based on skill mix, including general M/S, Ortho, PCU, and M/S Surgical with Oncology
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Proficiency with Meditech (HCA version) documentation system and Pyxis ES medication dispensing
- Ability to work the equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior cardiac stepdown, PCU, or progressive care nursing experience
- Familiarity with Welch Allyn vitals equipment and Novameter glucose monitoring
- Experience with telemetry interpretation and rhythm strip documentation
