Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Travel Contract

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours per Week | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit serving an adult cardiac population, including cardiac observation, post cardiac catheterization lab patients, and cardioversion patients
  • Monitor patients via telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac status
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Paragon EHR system
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
  • Float to other units as required to support staffing needs
  • Adhere to a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio while delivering safe, high-quality care
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of PCU, step-down, or ICU experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at minimum
  • Proficiency with telemetry equipment and cardiac monitoring
  • Must reside 60 miles or greater from facility to qualify as a travel candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with the Paragon electronic health record system
  • Background in cardiac specialty nursing with familiarity in common cardiac diagnoses and treatments
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
