Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Stepdown/PCU unit managing diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
- Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per protocol
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Monitor and troubleshoot CPAP equipment as needed
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a fast-paced environment with high admit and discharge volume
- Float to ICU when appropriate and based on experience
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability to pass a department-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
- Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
- ICU experience or background suitable for occasional float coverage
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and patient-centered care
