Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced 22-bed Stepdown/PCU unit managing a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Care for patients with common diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
- Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per physician orders and unit protocols
- Read and independently interpret telemetry strips without reliance on monitor technicians
- Manage patients requiring CPAP and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment as needed
- Float to ICU when appropriate based on unit need and candidate experience
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting with exposure to cardiac and stroke patient populations
- Experience titrating vasoactive or cardiac drips in an acute care environment
- ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU setting
