    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Nights

    Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Float across multiple campuses required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 25-bed Progressive Care Unit serving a heavy neurology/neurosurgery, craniectomy, orthopedic, and trauma patient population
    • Manage RN patient ratios of 1:5–6, delivering safe and effective care across assigned caseloads
    • Administer and monitor drips including Heparin, PCAs, and 3% Sodium (no titration required)
    • Operate and monitor specialty equipment including telemetry, chest tubes, and Airvo devices
    • Perform EKG strip reading, measuring, and telemetry monitoring
    • Float across multiple hospital campuses as assigned
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 24 months of recent experience in a Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care setting within a hospital or medical center
    • Neurology/neurosurgery care experience required
    • Orthopedic/ortho care experience required
    • Drip experience required: Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium/Na
    • EKG/strip reading and telemetry experience required
    • Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required at time of submission
    • Active AHA or ARC ACLS certification required
    • Active AHA or ARC BLS certification required
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the previous 12 months (no first-time travelers)
    • Valid Driver's License required
    • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)
    • Must be available to work 1–2 of the following summer holidays unless the unit is closed: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
    • Experience with specialty equipment including telemetry, chest tubes, and Airvo highly preferred
    • NIHSS certification preferred (may be obtained during onboarding)
    • De-escalation certificate preferred (CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted)
